About Sabine Deisen

Mixed Media

Sabine Deisen is a self-taught artist and winemaker whose creative journey has been deeply intertwined with the realms of fine art, fine craft, and the breathtaking beauty of the natural world. For the majority of her life, she has called the picturesque Barossa Valley home, where she resides on a stunning vineyard.

Her multifaceted career reflects a diverse and rich tapestry driven by an enduring

passion for aesthetics and nature. Sabine's academic pursuits led her to delve into the intricacies of biochemistry, botany, and zoology at the University of Adelaide. Furthering her artistic skills, she explored ceramics and glaze technology at Underdale SA. Subsequently, she dedicated a decade to craft and ceramics, honing her skills and fostering a deep connection with the tactile world of artistry.

Embracing the vine-covered landscapes of Barossa Valley, Sabine transitioned into winemaking, embarking on a sixteen year journey that resulted in creating her own label, Deisen Landscape. Alongside her partner Les Fensom, their venture earned a prestigious Halliday ***** (Five Star) rating in 2008 and was recognised as one of the 10 best new wineries of that year.

Simultaneously, Sabine dedicated two decades to her true passion – art. Proficient in various mediums, she explored the realms of painting drawing, and even ventured into sculpture, showcasing a versatility that underscores her artistic prowess.

Sabine's artistic odyssey has been celebrated nationally and internationally, with exhibitions spanning across Australia and reaching her hometown of Bremen, Germany. Her work serves as a testament to a life devoted to the harmonious intersection of creativity, craftsmanship, and the boundless wonders of the natural world.
