About Robin Hicks

Acrylics / Oil Painting / Watercolour

Robin Hicks is a versatile artist who works across various mediums, each celebrated for its unique qualities and beauty. His primary artistic expressions encompass watercolours, oil painting, acrylics, and pastels. With a profound connection to nature, Rogin strives to capture the shapes, colours, and emotions inherent in landscapes, seascapes, and the overall beauty of the world.

While her focus lies in portraying the natural world, Robin also finds inspiration in urban settings. Whether it's the fascinating angles and contrasts found in architecture or the rustic charm of an old countryside barn, she skilfully brings these scenes to life on canvas.

In addition to her personal artistic pursuits, Robin is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and passion with others. She serves as a tutor for classes and workshops, offering guidance in watercolours, oil, and acrylics. Known for her expertise, she frequently conducts artist demonstrations, providing valuable insights into his creative process.

Robin's artistic talent has not gone unnoticed, and she has been honoured with several awards. Notable among them are the Fabriano Awards in 2020 and 2022, as well as the Characters of the Fleurieu Portrait Merit Award in 2018. Recently, she received acclaim at the Yankallia Portrait Award in 2022 and secured third prizes for landscape and portrait categories at the Royal Adelaide Show in both 2022 and 2023.

Thrilled to be a part of the Barossa Art Festival, Robin expresses her love for the region. She finds the Barossa Valley to be a beautiful and inspiring place, where the creative atmosphere is rich, exciting, and filled with exceptional talent.
