Learn How to Draw with Charcoal

About the Event

Join experienced artist Sharyn Sinclair as she takes you through how to use charcoal as a medium for drawing.

This workshop is suitable for artists who have some drawing experience. It is not suitable for absolute beginners.

Please bring the following MATERIALS with you on the day.

  • Toned Cartridge paper
  • board & clips to which to attach your paper
  • charcoal
  • white charcoal pencils
  • pencils
  • kneaded eraser
  • white stick eraser (optional but useful)
  • and blending tools.
  • Useful tools for blending & smudging charcoal are soft paint brushes, tissues, and blending stumps, often called stomps & a pencil sharpener.


Places are strictly limited, so please register ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. There are cafes close to the gallery to get lunch or BYO lunch.

About the Artist - Sharyn Sinclair

Sharyn Sinclair is a dedicated member of the Gawler Art Society, currently serving as its President. With a background entirely rooted in self-teaching, she specializes in portraying animals and flowers, often working on expansive canvases. Sharyn's preferred artistic mediums are acrylic and charcoal, and she takes immense pleasure in leading charcoal workshops.
