Barossa Bushgardens

About the Barossa Bushgardens

The Barossa Bushgardens was originally set up as a native seed orchard after the realisation that there was only 2% of native vegetation left in the Barossa. Over the last 20 years, seeds have been collected, propagated, planted in the gardens and are continued to grow to provide native plants for the wider Barossa region. The garden represents the circle of life at its best with more and more native animals returning to the site and has become a place for health and wellbeing. The Barossa Bushgardens has evolved into a community hub, providing a safe space for the community to connect with our natural environment and find inspiration for all areas of life, be it gardening, socialisation or art projects. Visitors can enjoy special artworks permanently displayed in the gardens as well as visit exhibitions and join art workshops presented in the gardens.

Garden Sculpture Competition

The Barossa Bushgardens is proud to host the Barossa Arts Festival Garden Sculpture Competition throughout the month of April. When you visit, please pick up a Garden Sculpture Trail brochure at the Volunteer Centre and Southern Entrance, then take a stroll along the sculpture trail through the gardens and parts of adjacent Coulthard Reserve.
