About the
Barossa Arts Festival

A Partnership between local artists, art supporters, and the local community.

The Barossa Art Festival provides a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and connect with other businesses and creatives in the community and beyond, therefore strengthening the local Arts community and creating opportunities for collaboration and growth.

We believe the Arts should be accessible and inclusive to all, regardless of age, ability, or culture. Through our festival, we strive to create opportunities for everyone to experience the joy of art and participate in various art practices.

A fusion of Food, Wine & the Arts

We also seek to increase tourism and stimulate the local economy by showcasing the unique beauty of the Barossa region and the diversity of its artistic community through our extensive Arts Trail and Artist led workshops scattered throughout the Barossa and Light regions, paired with some amazing food and wine offerings the area is already known for. We are committed to making it a must-see event for locals and visitors alike and can’t wait to share our exciting event programme with you!

The overwhelming response to our inaugural Barossa Arts Festival program in 2022 with over 10,000 participants following our extensive Arts Trail, attending live artist demonstrations, workshops, and special events throughout April, was truly inspiring.

We were thrilled to support our Arts community with artwork sales of approximately $40,000 and to have facilitated some lovely, positive connections between artists and venues. This resulted in an increase in permanent exhibition spaces for Artists in our region – a win for both Artists, venues and visitors alike.

Despite the challenges of the Covid pandemic and closed interstate borders, the festival still drew significant attendance. Our “Meet the Maker” weekend featured 4 major events and 33 art workshops, and our surveys revealed that accommodation was fully booked in the region.

The Barossa Arts Festival creates a sense of community pride and engagement, as residents come together to celebrate the diverse cultural offerings of the area. It provides opportunities for cultural exchange, education, and entertainment for all ages and abilities, which can lead to a more connected and vibrant community.

Planning is well underway for the 2024 Barossa Arts Festival, and we look forward to hosting you as an Artist or art lover. Our goal is to cement the Barossa as a premier destination for the Arts, complementing its already outstanding reputation for food, wine, and culture.

Colour, creativity and culture is our catchphrase, and it is unmistakably evident when we showcase our regions vibrancy in the bi-annual Barossa Arts Festival.

Thank you to the local, regional and South Australian community for embracing our arts festival and being an integral part of its success. We hope you enjoy our incredible festival as much as we enjoy bringing it to you!
